Dear Yuletide Writer...
Oct. 14th, 2015 05:31 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This is my first time doing Yuletide. I'm so excited! I hope you find something within my requests that speaks to you, and gives you something fun to write.
I am okay with explicit sex, but I am just as happy, maybe more, with gen. Shipping is not my primary motivation with fic; I like relationships of all kinds.
Overall, I like h/c and angst. Whether it comes from loneliness, fear, pain, or shame, I like it all. The canons I chose have lots of bad things that have or could happen. I do also like comfort though, so whatever bad thing happens, there can be good to balance it out!
Hurt stuff I like reading: physical abuse, emotional abuse, dubcon/noncon, food restriction, humiliation (as long as it's not played for laughs).
Hurt tropes I like: Forced power exchange, sex directed by a third party, nonsexual punishment, prisonfic, slavefic, hookerfic.
Comfort stuff I like reading: Touching/cuddling, verbal reassurance, physical protection.
Comfort tropes I like: Loyal companions, best friends, shared trauma, volunteering to save someone else.
Things I DNW:
Non-canon character death. Death makes it not fun anymore.
Amputation/dismemberment. Again, not fun anymore.
Scat or vore.
Incest.
Body horror. This includes pregnancy (male or female), inflation, and stuffing.
Tickling. It's weird that tickling squicks me so hard, when I'm happy with violent noncon, but there you have it.
Abuse or noncon of women, children under 14, or animals.
Healing cock. Let's deal with the trauma before bringing sex into it.
Grimdark endings. It doesn't have to be happily ever after, but some hope is necessary.
AUs or crossovers for any of my requests. I'm happy with AUs in some fandoms, but not in these, and I'm never into crossovers.
Below are my requested fandoms. You're not limited to the prompts I listed, if you have something else you'd like to write.
FANDOMS

Island of Doomed Men. Stephen Danel, Mark "John Smith" Sheldon, Cort, Eddie. If you can't fit all the characters in, that's perfectly fine, but Mark and/or Eddie should definitely be included.
Island of Doomed Men is one of my favorite B movies. (Here is my writeup on the promo post. And here is the movie on YouTube.) I love prison and work camp stories, especially when the people in them don't deserve to be there. I love whipping scenes. I love worked-hard sweaty men being hurt and comforting each other. Here, have some prompts.

Rai-Kirah series by Carol Berg. Seyonne and anyone else.
Oh, this is the whumpiest of whumpy slavefic. Poor poor Seyonne. He's an abuse magnet. I love that he's lost all rebellion by the time the first book starts, and is only focused on obeying and avoiding being hurt. That pure acceptance of a horrible situation is like catnip to me. So naturally, I want to see it in action or see what made him that way in the first place. I also like that he bears marks from his punishments. Scars, bruises, welts, cuts, I like seeing the effects of what happened.

The Goblin Emperor. Maia Drazhar, Setheris Nelar, Hesero Nelaran.
Oh Maia, my sweet baby cinnamon roll, you are so perfect a woobie. This is another example of the kind of acceptance of a bad situation that I love. While Maia's unhappy with his life at Edonomee, he's resigned to dealing with Setheris for what's likely to be the rest of his life. He's obedient and submissive, but nothing will keep Setheris from taking out his anger on Maia.

Doctrine of Labyrinths. Felix Harrowgate, Malkar Gennadion.
Felix Harrowgate, arrogant master wizard of the Mirador, nobly born and lover of the Lord Protector's brother. Or, y'know, child prostitute ruthlessly trained by an evil wizard to appear so. Poor Felix, his arrogance falls to nothing when Malkar comes calling for him again.
Felix isn't a nice guy. Unlike my other woobies, there's plenty to dislike about him. But that gives him an inner self that never truly submits, and I find that fascinating. He shook Malkar's hold after three years at court; he's not one to calmly accept servitude as his lot. Also, I don't normally kink on height, but I like that he's taller than almost everyone, including Malkar.
I am truly happy with whichever prompt you decide to fill. Or you might have something better in mind, in which case I can't wait to see!

- What was Eddie being whipped for? "Discipline is essential" leaves it wide open for interpretation.
- Eddie faints into Mark's arms. When else do they touch?
- Lorraine kicked Danel out of her bed a while ago. Does he satisfy his sexual urges with the prisoners? (Yes. The answer is yes.)

- "The washing at the close of a meal was usually the job of younger slaves...attractive women or youths made available for a night for those guests who took a fancy to them. I had not been required to do it since I passed twenty-five and had enough scars to make me less than pleasing." What happened back when he was required to do it? What if Seyonne had been requested in the present, either after the dinner with the Mezzrahn or at some other dinner in the palace?
- As an Ezzarian, Seyonne is viewed with suspicion by pretty much everyone. Did he ever have any friends among other slaves in his life? Anyone to give him support or comfort?
- Durgan seems to like Seyonne well enough. Boresh seems to dislike him more than other slaves. Did they ever disagree over what should be done with him? If so, who won, and what happened then?

- Throughout the book, Maia keeps reminding himself that Setheris can't harm him anymore. He also tells himself that Csevet can't cane him, so it's pretty clear that was a tool in Setheris's arsenal. Let's see a pre-canon scene where Setheris punished him for some misdeed.
- Setheris got drunk. A lot. And he was a mean drunk. Did he ever abuse Maia sexually?
- When Hesero came to plead for Setheris's reinstatement at court, Maia let her know the extent of Setheris's abuse. She was horrified, and couldn't believe it of her husband. What did she say when she went back to Setheris? Was she angry? Hurt? Afraid? How did he feel, seeing that his beloved wife knew what he had done? (This is my vengeance prompt, because Setheris is bad and should be made to feel bad forever.)

- Malkar bought Felix from the brothel at age 14. What did he see in Felix that called to him? What was it like for Felix, being taken out of Pharaohlight and into Malkar's home?
- Was Felix ever better at something than Malkar? How did they each react? What did Malkar do about it?
- What was it like when Felix first came to court under Malkar's guidance? Had he pulled together his haughty act yet? What did Malkar have him do? What did Malkar do to him?
